Ralph Lauren leaves office

The american designer Ralph Lauren, founder of the Polo brand and legendary figure in the fashion industry, will leave the general direction of the group that bears his name after almost half a century at the front of it, but will remain responsible for the creation.

Lauren, 75, will be replaced in November by Stefan Larsson, a Swedish designer of 41 years, until now director of the clothing chain Old Navy, a subsidiary of the Gap group in the low-price segment, said Tuesday the company a statement.

Ralph Lauren will not retire but will continue as responsible for creating brand and executive president.
